Surya is captivated by Imlie’s vibrant personality, feeling as if music fills his ears after just 2 minutes with her. Despite being a suspended police officer, he bursts into singing a patriotic song, “Ye Desh Hai Veer Jawanon Ka,” much to Imlie’s amusement.
Anjali tearfully informs Malti that her romance with Surya has ended, devastated by the realization that Surya now loves Imlie. Meanwhile, Nirmala plans to expose Imlie’s past to Indira, convinced that Imlie has a history of ensnaring men.
Banaras finally arrives, and the conductor announces that passengers must disembark in five minutes. Surya notices Imlie sleeping and tries to wake her gently with his kerchief, remembering her discomfort the last time he accidentally touched her.
Carefully covering her nose with the kerchief, Imlie wakes up abruptly, asking if he’s trying to suffocate her. Surya explains they’ve arrived in Banaras and need to check into a hotel before heading to the education board in three hours.
Imlie insists on retrieving her bag from the rack, and Surya helps her, noticing two men staring at her. He quickly ushers her into a cab and instructs the driver to take them to the Yellow Valley Hotel.
A group of men approach Surya, informing him that Imlie is a renowned bar singer in Purvaiya and suggesting he share her with them. Surya sternly dismisses them but continues to speak disparagingly about Imlie. When they persist, he physically confronts them, leading to a growing crowd.
Meanwhile, Imlie arrives at the scene and questions why Surya is attacking the men. One of them lies, claiming he merely mentioned Imlie’s profession, prompting Surya to express his disdain for women who sing in bars for money. Hurt, Imlie walks away. Surya warns the man never to disrespect women and lets him go. Returning to his cab, Surya asks the driver about Imlie’s whereabouts, but the driver is unaware of her destination.
Nirmala confronts Indira with a video of Imlie dancing in a bar, accusing her of bringing shame to their family. Indira expresses her disappointment to CJ, feeling betrayed that Imlie kept such a significant secret. CJ supports Indira but leaves the final decision to Surya.
Meanwhile, Surya frantically searches for Imlie, mistaking another lady in a similar dress for her. He apologizes and continues his search, eventually receiving a call from the hotel manager, informing him that Imlie has already checked in. Surya rushes to the hotel and, pretending to be a room service boy, knocks on Imlie’s door with complimentary snacks. When she opens the door, Surya scolds her for leaving without informing him. Imlie, unfazed, questions why it matters and challenges Surya about his feelings toward her past.
Indira calls Surya to inquire about Imlie’s whereabouts, and he confirms she is with him. Indira then reveals that Imlie had not disclosed her past as a bar singer. Surya responds that he is aware of Imlie’s past and admires her for her sacrifices, recognizing that such work is often out of necessity rather than choice. He expresses pride in Imlie’s hard work and determination. Indira is visibly upset.
Later, Imlie asks Surya if he is ashamed of her past, to which he responds with confusion, asking why he should be. Imlie explains that the men mentioned Surya’s derogatory comments about her. Surya clarifies that he had attacked the men for speaking ill and demanding to share her, not for her profession. He reassures her, stating he would protect her from anyone who disparages her, emphasizing his love and respect for her.
