Imlie 15th April 2024: Relationships are tested

Surya comes back home, and Arjun asks where he was because there was some commotion at home. Surya wants to know what’s going on, but Arjun tells her to serve food to Imlie, who hasn’t eaten since morning. Surya thinks it’s pointless because Imlie does what she wants.

Arjun smells alcohol on Surya and asks if he’s drunk. Surya denies it and suggests the smell might be coming from Arjun. He takes food for Imlie but accidentally drops a vase, waking her up. He offers her food, but she smells alcohol on him and starts arguing, calling him a bad police officer. Surya denies being drunk, but the argument continues.

He tries to leave, but Malti and Nirmala, who are eavesdropping, lock the door. Surya finds the door locked from outside. Imlie tries to open it but fails, saying she doesn’t feel safe with him. Shocked, Surya suggests it’s better to jump out of the window than stay with her. He jumps, telling her to have dinner, but he falls and gets injured. Imlie, shocked, screams.

Malti and Nirmala unlock the door and escape. Imlie is surprised to find the door open and runs to Surya. The family rushes to him before her, and Mahesh and Arjun take him to the hospital. Indira looks angrily at Imlie and the open window.

Indira feels relieved when Mahesh tells her they’re returning home after Surya’s treatment. Imlie asks if Surya is okay. Indira scolds her for letting Surya jump out of the window. Imlie explains that Surya jumped before she could react.

Nirmala accuses Imlie of pushing him out, just like she tortured him earlier. Surya enters and says Imlie didn’t push him; he jumped to make her feel safe. He asks everyone to rest, saying his jump was not Imlie’s fault.

Mahesh asks Surya if he’s drunk, and Surya denies it. Indira questions how Imlie could feel so unsafe with him, her husband. She asks Imlie why she made him jump.

Hemalatha suggests not interfering in their marital issues. Indira points out that Surya, once a respected police officer, is now suspended and injured because of Imlie. Nirmala criticizes Imlie for troubling her husband so much. The family disperses. Arjun asks Surya how he got drunk, and Surya recalls Anjali serving him juice and decides to investigate.

Later, Surya finds Imlie in the room drying her hair. He says he needs to shower, and she agrees, applying sindoor on her forehead. He notices his shirt is well-ironed and asks if she did it, but she denies it. Surya then asks Radha Rani why she ironed his shirt if it’s still wrinkled. Imlie comments that he should learn to thank others and not jump out of windows.

Nirmala tells the maid to take the day off, and Malti asks who will do the laundry. Nirmala says Imlie will, but Hemalatha insists the maid should do it. Nirmala reveals the maid has taken the day off, and Imlie says she needs to study. Nirmala taunts her for getting Surya suspended yet wanting to study. Indira reminds Imlie that their family daughters-in-law don’t refuse work.

Indira’s reminder about the family’s tradition of not refusing work doesn’t sit well with Imlie, who feels unfairly targeted. The tension between Indira and Imlie grows as Imlie is pushed into doing the laundry despite her protests. Meanwhile, Surya, still recovering from his injury, tries to understand why he ended up drunk the previous night.

As the day progresses, Indira’s frustration with Imlie seems to escalate. She questions Imlie’s intentions and actions, especially in relation to Surya’s recent behavior. This puts Imlie on the defensive, feeling misunderstood and judged by her mother-in-law.
