The episode begins with Jhanak recalling Anirudh’s harsh words. She resolves, “Your words hold no meaning. I will move on. You insulted me; I won’t tolerate it. I will leave and never return.” Meanwhile, Anirudh thinks, “You believed I’d be sad, but I’m happy. My acting is flawless. If anyone insults me, I’ll retaliate.”
Dadu asks Baren about his decision. Baren admits, “I haven’t spoken to Meenakshi yet.” Dadi reassures, “Ask us anything, and we’ll answer honestly.” Mrinalini thinks, “I won’t marry Choton. I need to explain this to Dad.” Baren asks Mrinalini to join the others, but she insists on staying, preferring to hear the conversation. Dadu reminisces, “Our family was close.
You played with Choton as a child. My mother used to say…” Dadi interrupts, “Mrinalini will get shy.” Dadu continues, “She said your pairing is good. She wanted you as our daughter-in-law.” Mrinalini decides to meet the others, thinking, “I won’t marry Choton.”
Dadu questions, “Isn’t it enough that Choton is my son?” Dadi adds, “We like Mrinalini a lot, and Choton is honest.” Baren expresses concern, “I like Choton, but he’s changed. He’s taking Sanyas.” Dadi, surprised, says, “We know nothing about this. I’ll talk to him.” Baren argues, “How can I marry my daughter to him if he’s becoming a Sanyasi? Mrinalini is educated and happy.
” Dadi assures, “I know how to change his mind. I’ll ask Mrinalini if she has a way.” Baren remains skeptical, “He made a big decision without telling anyone. I wanted Mrinalini to settle with him, but not if he’s becoming a Sanyasi.” Dadu insists, “He can’t take this decision.
” Baren counters, “He can decide for himself.” Dadu asserts, “Choton is my best son. He loves everyone.” Dadi adds, “He may earn less, but he cares for us.” Baren reiterates, “His Sanyasi decision is significant.” Dadu vows to talk to him, asserting, “He can’t become a Sanyasi without my permission.” Baren concludes, “I can’t give Mrinalini’s hand to him.”
In the morning, Dadi and the ladies arrive for Anirudh’s haldi. Bipasha hands Jhanak the haldi bowl. Dadi inquires about Anirudh. He arrives, greeting Dadi warmly. They joke, and Anirudh takes her blessings.
They dance, and everyone applauds. Jhanak smiles as Lal calls Anirudh, but Dadi insists on keeping him a bit longer. She applies haldi to Anirudh. Lal asks Choton to join, but he refuses. Dadi continues the rituals. Jhanak watches, and Anirudh thinks, “I will perform every ritual well.” Jhanak silently wishes him happiness.
Dadi calls Anjana for the haldi ceremony. Anirudh asks about Appu, and Dadi assures, “She’ll come.” Bipasha inquires about Choton, who replies, “Nothing, you all enjoy.” Anjana and others apply haldi to Anirudh.
Dadu and Bablu reminisce about time passing quickly. Shubh joins, reminiscing about childhood. Dadu laughs, agreeing that childhood was good. Shubh notes, “You have a son and two daughters. Anirudh will give you grandchildren.” Dadu reflects on his time, prompting hugs and reassurances from the others.
Dadi urges Jhanak to apply haldi to Anirudh. Bipasha encourages, “Yes, as much as you want. Then get ready for Arshi’s house.” Tanuja adds, “We still have dancing and singing left.” Jhanak tries to decline, but Tanuja insists, “We’re asking you to apply haldi. Do it.” Anirudh silently pleads, “Don’t apply haldi to me, please.” Jhanak applies the haldi, and they share an intense eye contact.
