The episode begins with Shivam pulling Sajeeri aside and scolding her, forbidding her from mentioning Mandira’s name. He reminds her of the new rules, telling her to stay quiet and away from him. As he leaves, she cries. Riya approaches and informs her that Nalini is looking for her.
Sajeeri reassures Riya that she will be there soon, resolving not to do anything that would make Shivam ashamed. Meanwhile, Mandira instructs the photographer to take good pictures of Sajeeri.
A man tries to stop Sajeeri, but she insists on leaving. He persuades her to stay, and as she stands in front of some glasses, her heel breaks, causing her to stumble and fall. The glasses shatter, and Sajeeri falls to the side as everyone looks on.
The guests begin to gossip. Nalini rushes to help Sajeeri up, asking if she’s okay. Shivam grows angry hearing the guests’ remarks about Sajeeri. One girl mocks Shivam for rejecting her in favor of Sajeeri. Sajeeri starts crying while Aaji and Mandira smile. Gathering her strength, Sajeeri stands up to defend herself and gives a heartfelt speech, removing her broken heels.
Sharad encourages everyone to applaud Sajeeri for her words. Mandira then interjects, sarcastically stating she would have raised a toast if the glasses hadn’t broken and demands a personal speech from Sajeeri. She mentions that Sajeeri has prepared a speech for her husband and family. Shivam questions Mandira’s motives, but she dismisses him, thinking Sajeeri will humiliate herself.
Sajeeri, confused, checks her speech and realizes it’s written in English instead of the Hindi she had prepared. The guests pressure her to read it, and when she struggles, they laugh. Infuriated, Shivam thinks about why he allowed her into his life and scolds her for causing a scene.
Sajeeri, in tears, explains that she can’t read English because she only studied up to the 4th standard at a government school. Shivam is stunned as Aaji smugly remarks that Sajeeri’s truth is revealed. Shivam tells Sajeeri to stop, unable to contain his frustration.
The guy stops Shivam from leaving. Shivam angrily storms out. Sajeeri apologizes to everyone, causing Shivam to pause. Sajeeri explains, “I can’t read what’s on this paper, but someone once told me that you don’t need words to express your heart, just emotions.
” She then delivers a heartfelt speech, admitting her initial fears about coming here. She acknowledges that while she and Shivam come from different worlds, her Sasural family has shown her immense love and helped her overcome her fears.
Sajeeri praises the family members, highlighting Nalini with a smile, saying, “Nalini is like my Aai. I know I’ll bond with the rest of the family over time. Shivam is not just my husband; he’s also my friend and support. When I make a mistake, he corrects me. Even his anger shows his love. We may seem different, but I don’t feel that way.”
She thanks Shivam for coming into her life and blessing her with a big, loving family. “I promise to always keep the family happy,” she vows. Everyone applauds, but Shivam senses that Sajeeri is hiding the truth about her illiteracy.
