The episode begins with Saleem bringing sweets and complimenting Vaiju. Kaveri comments that Vaiju’s fate will be decided by the Lord. Aai arrives home, mentioning she has received blessings from Nandi. Vaiju expresses her desire for Aai’s blessings first.
However, Saleem receives a call from the groom’s family, who informs him that they are not coming. Vaiju becomes sad upon hearing this news. Kaveri, who had suspected this outcome, remarks that the entire village now knows about the rejection. The girls console Vaiju, but Kaveri asks them to leave.
Meanwhile, Vasundara confronts Rao Sahab, accusing him of having the desire to sit on the throne despite being just the Sarpanch and her husband. He defends his position, reminding her that he is the Sarpanch because of her support.
They argue, and Vasundara taunts him about past events. He urges her to stop bringing up the past, and she asserts that she will fulfill her responsibilities regardless of his actions before leaving.
Aai tries to console Vaiju, while Ranvijay thinks about Jaya. Jaya is at her workshop and calls home. Vaiju, still upset about her broken wedding, returns the sacred thread to Saleem and leaves. Aai watches her go and cries, then eats chilli powder mixed with rice, regretting her actions.
Later, some men trouble the girls at the painting workshop and then go to Jaya and tease her. Ranvijay arrives and beats up the goons, retrieving the hairpin from one of them. Meanwhile, Vaiju, still distressed, cries while ploughing the field.
Ranvijay asks for Jaya’s name, but she initially refuses to tell him. However, he eventually finds out and compliments her name. Jaya’s friend Kishor, impressed by Ranvijay, invites him to his birthday party, despite Jaya’s reservations.
Jaikant arrives at Vaiju’s field, reminiscing about their past match. He proposes a land deal, explaining that Vasundara, who owns 100 acres of land, wishes to purchase Vaiju’s one-acre plot, which is situated in the middle of Vasundara’s vast land.
Vaiju firmly asserts that her field is not for sale, leading to a heated argument between them. Meanwhile, Pandit ji shows Vasundara pictures of potential brides, but she rejects them all. Curious, Pandit ji asks Vasundara about the kind of girl she envisions for Vaiju. Vaiju interrupts, declaring that her land is her pride and is not up for sale.
Jaikant, undeterred by Vaiju’s refusal, warns her that Vasundara does not like to be denied. He urges Vaiju’s mother, Aai, to persuade her daughter. However, Vaiju remains resolute, demanding Jaikant to leave. In response, Jaikant threatens to teach her a lesson. Enraged, Vaiju threatens to kill him and bury him, further escalating the tension. Aai intervenes, advising Vaiju to focus on her work.
Ignoring Aai’s advice, Jaikant maliciously drops alcohol on the sack of seeds and sets it ablaze. Aai watches in horror as the seeds start to burn, and Vaiju rushes to extinguish the fire, managing to save her precious seeds.
Meanwhile, Vasundara expresses her desire for a daughter-in-law who would make Vaiju proud. She describes the ideal girl as someone who remains steadfast even in adversity, whose duty towards the land is her religion. Vasundara emphasizes that she does not seek wealth or dowry, but rather a girl who embodies the qualities of the soil. Vaiju, having successfully put out the fire, asserts that the decision must be made collectively.
Pandit ji then presents a picture of Vaiju, suggesting that she embodies the qualities Vasundara desires and will become the Annapurna (goddess of food/grains) for Vasundara’s family and village.
