The episode begins with Anirudh expressing gratitude to Jhanak for the bouquet. They engage in conversation, during which Jhanak expresses concern about returning home in the current weather. Anirudh reassures her, noting that it’s not raining heavily and she’ll be fine.
Jhanak reveals that she lied at home for Anirudh’s sake and will be going to Srinagar in a few days, which is why she couldn’t refuse him. She privately resolves never to return.
Anirudh advises her not to stay there for long due to the risks involved, but Jhanak insists on facing them, curious to see what will happen, especially since he has arranged for police protection. She declares that she will go wherever her fate leads. Anirudh suggests bringing Rahul back to find a job, but Jhanak dismisses the idea, stating that such talk dampens her spirits, especially since she took a big risk coming there. Anirudh acknowledges her decision to leave and offers to book her tickets, but Jhanak declines, opting to purchase them online to avoid any arguments.
They discuss their meal plans, with Jhanak suggesting that if Anirudh visits Srinagar, she could cook for him. He agrees, proposing they share the food. Jhanak playfully remarks that he sometimes behaves like a child. She mentions hearing about plans for his future, to which Anirudh responds positively but notes her absence.
Jhanak points out that his family will be there, prompting Anirudh to ask if she doesn’t consider herself close to him. She questions how she could be close, to which Anirudh playfully suggests adding her to the list.
Their conversation continues as Anirudh orders two fresh lime sodas, reminding Jhanak of their shared memories.
He insists, “I can’t forget that moment,” and she inquires why. He replies, “I can’t divulge the entire reason. That day holds a special place in my heart; everyone assumed we were married, celebrating. What occurred? Tell me, or time will slip away. Would my passing affect you?” She implores him not to speak like that again.
He asks, “Why not? Would you mourn my loss?” She retorts, “I’ll pass before you; Tejas won’t spare me. I won’t succumb to him. If he harms me, will you miss me then?” He interrupts her, and as “Lag Jaa Gale” plays, they share a moment.
Their gaze lingers as the waiter brings their fresh lime soda. Jhanak wonders how they’ll get home. Anirudh insists she order, it’s his treat. She hesitates, accusing him of harboring animosity. He anticipated her response, reminding her of his past support.
She acknowledges, and he expresses concern for her. She dismisses it, urging him to focus on his new life, not her. He wants her to pursue her career and independence. As they order, Choton calls Anirudh. Arshi informs them that Ani is absent, leaving everyone waiting.
Arshi notes Jhanak’s absence, to which Shubh comments on her independent nature. Anjana remarks she’ll leave soon, having gone to buy books. Tanuja suggests Choton could have bought them. Anjana explains Jhanak refused, not wanting to burden him. The waiter warns of a possible cyclone, suggesting they leave soon. Anirudh remains unfazed, instructing them to serve.
Jhanak admits her fear of storms, to which Anirudh reassures her. The food arrives, and she suggests they not overeat, needing to save some for home. He expresses his desire to indulge, recalling her preferences from their time on the houseboat.
She remarks that it’s an old thing. He recalls, “Yes, I remember. Have it now.” She insists, “It’s your birthday. Have it.” He gently feeds it to her. Meanwhile, the group discusses Jhanak and Anirudh’s absence. Bipasha voices concern, “I feel there is some connection. Where is Jhanak? It’s 10:30 pm now. Where is Ani? He has a car to drive and come home.
” Jhanak becomes emotional and urges Anirudh to eat. The waiter interrupts, “Shall I get the bill?” Anirudh agrees, “Okay, cancel the dessert.” The waiter adds, “Sorry, the weather is bad. A cyclone can come anytime.” Anirudh remains unfazed, “We will manage. Get the bill.” Jhanak suggests, “Shall we cut the cake?”
She starts singing the birthday song. He smiles and cuts the cake. As he settles the bill, Arshi remarks, “The storm has calmed down now. Ani can come back home. He has switched off his phone. Maybe someone else wants to celebrate his birthday before us.
I’m sure they are together.” Anirudh pays the bill and observes, “It’s not raining, but the weather is bad. We should leave.” Jhanak admits, “I’m scared.” Anirudh jokes, easing the tension, “You get scolded every day because of me.” She retorts, “You don’t make me happy when I talk to you, right?”
